I would like to take this opportunity to thank the lovely folks over at Hanna Andersson for producing such high quality children’s pajamas. But at $38 a pop, buying them new was never part of my family’s life. However, Hanna Andersson is a local company, so it’s super easy to find them at thrift stores.
Like yesterday, when I bought seven pairs of new looking Hanna jammies for 50¢ apiece. And now Portland Craigslist followers will be able to pick them up for $15 apiece. And I will have a chunk of change for a short vacation before school starts back up.
Thank you, Hanna Andersson.

My two boys have outgrown Hanna Andersson but I will admit to being a parent who bought 3-4 pairs every two years for the years where they were Hanna sized. I did not however purchase these at retail prices (which is what is great about purchsing from online retailers—they always have sales).
For $28/pair on sale, each boy wore the pair for two years….I rolled the cuffs on the top and bottoms the first year and then without the second year. After 4 years (boys are two years apart), I then sold these to a friend for $5/pair, who had two boys. She sold them for $1/pair when her boys outgrew them 4 years later.
You will easily spend $5-6/pair at WalMart for pajamas that won’t last a year if washed twice a week—after one year their not usable for more than landfill fill.
In this scenario, the $38 Hanna’s seem the right choice to me. I also shop at thrift stores and would have been estatic to find these for 50 cents!
Great find!

When my daughter was Hanna-sized, 20 years ago, there was a great Hanna sale every year at Montgomery Park. And now that I have a granddaughter, there is the Hanna outlet in Lake Oswego. And my daughter is always on the Hanna search at consignment shops.
Lucky lucky duck! I love Hanna….too bad my kids only get them when I can find them at the thrift stores or one of my generous aunts bestows them upon us. Are you willing to ship??
In addition to the high quality of Hanna Andersen clothing, the company seems to be highly ethical – adjusting prices to offer “gud value” during this tough economy, offering a 20% discount if you donate used children’s books in good condition…
Fantastic find! I haven’t found any Hanna at the thrift store here, but I do love it. I have a dress and leggings for my daughter that she’s been in for 8 months and will wear at least another year as a tunic and shorts. They’re really high quality and so, so soft!
Awesome!! My little brother and I used to get Hanna PJs for christmas each year and I LOVED them! Someday my kids will get these for Christmas also!
