A Quiet Day for Blogging

by Katy on May 17, 2013 · 5 comments

Today I am taking it easy as a blogger. My house needs a couple hours of focused attention, and the Oregon sky just might eke out enough sunshine for a load of laundry.

Have a great Friday!

It was great. Because I got the house whipped into shape nice and early, my day was totally open when my friend called up wanting to know if I was available to get together.

Just picked up a copy of Nickel and Dimed from the library. Curious to know more about Barbara Ehrenreich, I googled her. Did you know got her undergrad degree from Reed College (1963; 10 years before Steve Jobs was there)?

I did know that. My son took a tour of Reed a couple of months ago and noticed they had “Nickel and Dimed” on a shelf of alumni publications.

I love Nickel and Dimed too. Another interesting book somewhat along the same lines is “Other People’s Dirt” by Louise Rafkin – have you read it?
