Let The Sun Shine In!

Today, my husband is thinning out the biggest maple tree known to man.

Please let some sun shine into my backyard.

Good Luck with the tree trimming. We have 4 large silver maples in our side yard. Nice shade in the summer, but lots of twirlers in the Spring and leaves in the fall.

My baby maple died over the winter, and the other baby maple doesn’t look very good. The City Horticulturologist said they probably dehydrated over our too-mild winter. I’m from Wisconsin – what do I know about too-mild winters? Apparently, you need to water your baby trees!

I would put up with the twirlers (we always called them helicopters) and the leaves just to have a mature tree shading my house in the summer.

The twirlers seem to have finally stopped, which is a happy day!
