Non-Consumer Photo Essay — A Guardians of The Galaxy Edition

This cute thrift shop dinette set caught my eye last week. Not just because it was complete, (a rarity) but also because the textured chair pattern looked familiar.

Does this pattern look familiar to you?

How about you, Drax from Guardians of The Galaxy? Is this your favorite dinette pattern?

Although I didn’t buy this antique washstand, I couldn’t resist snapping a couple of pictures. Isn’t the drawer pull to die for?

Ikea has nothing that compares.

I did dive for this dumpster chair. Yes, the arm needed to be reglued, but that was no big deal. And I was able to sell it through Craigslist almost immediately.

I always glance into the CoinStar change return bin, and am often rewarded with a bit of change. Too bad I wasn’t on the hunt for a washer and a button. Because that would have totally made my day!

And no hamburger bun session would be complete without texting a selfie in front of my laptop to Kristen from The Frugal Girl. An excellent and easy recipe!

Have a great weekend!

Several things:
– when I say I love how geeky you are (re dinette set), I truly mean it and am not being snarky
– we actually have a piece of furniture with those pulls and my husband discusses their beauty regularly
– I found a 1963 quarter yesterday which is apparently worth around $3 to those who collect coins
– thanks for constantly great posts!

Love that dinette set!
I second the appreciation of all of the great posts lately…haven’t had much time to comment, but try to check in daily for a good dose of frugal inspiration!
Have a nice weekend!

I would have bought that chair in a heartbeat—great find!

I’m not into vintage kitchen but I would have had to wrestle between my husband and my grand-daughter if either of them had seen the dinette set. Our kitchen isn’t big enough for that, AND the dining room has a dining room set already–although I wouldn’t mind replacing it if the right one came along. It’s a non-descript table, chairs and china cabinet paired with a buffet from 50 years earlier because the one matching the set was too small by far. I needed the new chairs and table badly when we bought it but I’m not that happy with it now. Don’t like the china cabinet much because if you turn on the inside lights, you would have to dust the thing DAILY!! Mirrors in the back of the shelves–not a good choice at all. Not going back to that store ever if I can help it. Also bought an entertainment center on another occasion because I thought my husband wanted it–and he thought I did—we both hate it. Don’t shop for furniture when you really NEED it—-you have to think more carefully than that!!

I vouch for that bun recipe. I made it after seeing it posted here a couple weeks ago. Easy, and fantastic for sloppy joes! I added the recipe to my “make again” box.
