Four Frugal Things -- Thonet Chairs & Buggy Apples

1) I cut a hydrangea bouquet for neighbors who'd gifted me produce from their garden. They weren't home, so they'll arrive home to mystery flowers on their porch. Will I tell them?

2) I picked up two of the least bruised and buggy apples from a different neighbor's tree.

Sure, they're not visually appealing, but there was still plenty of good apple for my husband and I to enjoy.

I sliced up some Tillamook cheddar to eat with my slices.
3) I drove to the library to pick up my holds. I'd normally walk, but I knew one of the books ("Architectural Digest at Home") was going to be heavier than your average bear.
I then spent an hour or so leafing through the pretty pictures while drinking tea and listening to a Libby audiobook. (Living my best life!) As always, I enjoy when the million dollar interiors overlap with my curb finds.

Here's my chair that sits in a corner of the dining room:

And here's what it looked like when I curb picked it in 2012:

I'm 100% sure that it's a Thonet knockoff, but it's still fun to own.

4) I used up a bag of spinach without a single leaf going to waste. Of course, this cooked down spinach started as an entire haystack!
Now your turn, what frugal things have you been up to?

It never ceases to amaze me when I saute a bag of spinach that is starting to become less than stellar to eat fresh and it cooks down to about 1/4 of a cup. It's like a magic trick! Now you see it, now you don't!
I haven't heard that expression "the average bear" in many years. My father used to say it to my sister and I "You're smarter than the average bear." Don't know how true that was...lol...but you sure brought back a sweet memory.
My folks to refer to jellystone often! I had a Yogi and Boo-boo record as a kid! Lol 🙂
