  1. Thanks for posting this. I watched it recently and it motivated me to look into getting a refurbished phone instead of a new one after my old phone broke. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of buying a used phone off Craigslist, so this was a good option for me. Other folks who are shopping around for cell providers or are looking into upgrading their phones should know that both Sprint and AT&T will sell you a refurbished phone. I was able to get a refurbished phone for free with my new AT&T plan! Probably other providers have something like this, too, and many of the cell providers will also take back their old phones and accessories for reuse/recycling. I need to look further into the environmental safety of the cell providers' recycling programs, though.

  2. The battery in my 3 year old pay-as-you-go cell phone wasn't holding a charge any more. I thought about getting a new phone, with new features, but that felt wasteful. The phone was only $19.99... but after scouring the internet, I could buy a new battery for 7.99 with free shipping. Now, the only thing going to the dump is the old battery. I hope my old phone will last another 3 years!
