What kind are you getting, Katy? I'm in the market for a laptop myself, my first one, and I'm trying to follow The Compact on this, but I'm wary of buying a used computer because of all that can go wrong. Are you going with a Mac? I'd love to, as I've used them at work and loved them, but I'm not sure my web-surfing justifies the extra expense, since I wouldn't be using it to create graphics or anything.
