Looking through my photos, I came a across a few blog-worthy photos to share. Which included . . .
Homemade Halloween costumes.
Me with a backdrop of thrift store brassieres.
Stuff even I will not buy used.
The 1928 Olympic uniform that my husband’s grandfather wore when he ran the Steeplechase in Amsterdam.
And a certain groovy Olympian enjoying the company of a barely-legal girl who had just been eliminated from America’s Got Talent. Cause yeah, this is what was happening backstage at The Today Show.

Ha! Got a good laugh out of that Neti Pot!
OMG! That Neti pot pic is so foul and so funny.
I’m waiting to come across a used enema kit. 😉

I, also, laughed at the Neti pot. My husband found one new, in the box, never opened, still had the plastic wrap on it at a Goodwill. Since it was less than half the price of a new one, he got it.
I bought my neti pot at Goodwill. it’s ceramic, just like dishes I ran it through the dishwasher and it was good to go IMHO. but I get that differant people have differant comfort levels when it comes to used stuff.
I do love the Goodwill treasure hunt! I call it retail therapy, for minimalists! 😉
The costume and the “scandal” still has me cracking up! Thanks for the peek into your world 😀 I need to find a place to upload pictures of Puerto Rican iguanas and such.
Thrifted neti pot…eeew…
Quick question – since thrifting in my very rural farming community is sparse to say the least, I am an avid ebayer. I know that it’s more expensive than thrifting due to shipping costs, etc, but usually cheaper than new. My question is, does ebay still count as part of the compact? Thanks for your thoughts on this one!
I didn’t have much of a reaction to the neti pot, but what got me was: “wow, your relative was in the 1928 Olympics!” and “wow, what a big polo horse on RL’s shirt!”
Yup. My husband’s grandfather was in the same Olympics as Johnny Weissmuller, A.K.A. Tarzan!

I’m not ashamed to admit that I would have grabbed that Neti Pot if the salt packets were still in the box.
