Today I am . . .

Today I am . . .

  • Going to visit the Multnomah County Library’s Title Wave Bookstore, as their books are buy-one-get-three-free today.
  • Feeling both guilty and proud of how I slept until 11:30 A.M. today.
  • Going to mix up sugar cookie dough, using a recipe I found through Frugal Living NW.
  • Staring at my 13-year-old son. He just got his hair cut, and he looks unbelievably handsome.
  • Thinking about The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, and what a gripping book it was.
  • Ignoring my mess of a house.
  • Going to my father’s house for a Hannukah celebration.
  • Photographing my wooden tree house toy to sell on Craigslist.
  • Needing to write down what gifts I have for which people, so I can plug in the holes.
  • But mostly, just hanging out in home and procrastinating.

How about you?

I shipped packages, bought last minute gifts, caught up with a friend, bought some salad greens. Now for blog/e-mail catch-up and then cleaning for hours and hours!

But I kind of just want to sit and eat…and eat 😉

Don’t you just love those moments when you look at your son and take a deep breath because you know you are so lucky? I envy you that yours are still at home. Neither of my sons will be with us this Christmas. 🙁

I read that book a few months ago and loved it! So many interesting questions it raised? And when I was finished, I passed it along to another as I have reached a hoarder level of books in my personal library. I counted the other day ans was up to 4532. I tell my friends that if I stop calling them, they should come over and check that I am not trapped under a pile of books.

Drove by the mall yesterday and realized I haven’t been there in 3 years, barely recognized it. I’m a sewer, knitter, etc., so most of my friends want coupons for new zippers, hems, and repair work. Lucky me. I also traded a few alterations for cookies and breads so my holiday baking is done.

Tomorrow, will make one more sweep around the GWs in the area for a project I have in mind for next year, pick up tamales from Canby Asparagus Farm for Christmas dinner, and I’m finished for the year. Will just sit back and knit by the fire till Christmas. House is clean enough!

Henrietta Lacks – that was a brilliant book, wasn’t it? Procrastination? Yup. I can go so far with Christmas stuff and then I need a break. Will buckle down at get the rest of it done…just in time, no doubt. Lucky you to have a son – and a handsome one even!

I’m just about to host the women’s Christmas party for our church at my house. And I’m actually ready ahead of time for once in my life.

Totally understand the guilty/proud feeling of sleeping in. I have the same conundrum.

Please don’t feel guilty about sleeping til 11:30! I’d be shouting from the roof tops if I was ever lucky to sleep that long!! 🙂

Loved that book! Wow!

Congrats on sleeping in so late! You must have needed the extra rest. We are also enjoying sleeping late during the holiday break. Kids are off of school and we are loving just lazing around the house, reading, watching movies, and eating homemade chili and cookies.

I love ignoring the house. Don’t be married to your house, y’all…be married to your man, mother your children…friend with your friends.

no pics of the incredibly handsome son? lol. Envious of the book sale & right there with ya on the luxury of sleeping in. This is a good time to rest up & get energized for a new year on the horizon:)
