Macklemore Isn't The Only One Who Can Rock Footed Jammies

Young House Love put up a Macklemore inspired thrift shop challenge, where they asked readers to photograph themselves finding various Macklemore Thrift Shop items in their local thrift shops.

Of course I was in.

Like so:

She got the velcros!

 And also:

Macklemore jammies

And for those of you who want to watch a cleaned up version of the song, I present to you a very special video you'll want to watch with the whole family. (Or not, as you can still figure out all the delicious swearing.)

Yes. I am a geek and I swear a lot. I'm surprised you didn't already know this.

And for those who want to know what I did buy, click HERE to read all about it!

  1. I love it!! This is my inspiration for thrift-shopping for the weekend!! (I'm stupid - are they saying "pop some tags?")

    1. Yes they are. It means to switch tags to get a better price. Here in Portland, The Goodwills have tear apart tags that can't be "popped."

  2. So...what did you end up spending your $20. bucks on? I'm headed to the Westport Goodwill this weekend to meet the challenge- stay tuned for photos...

  3. I just "discovered" Macklemore today and I've been psycho-listening to the Thrift song! Everyone needs to know about this!

  4. I LOVE that you posted this!!! My husband found this song for me a couple weeks ago and he said "babe I found your anthem". Popping tags...what all we thrift store girls love to do 🙂

  5. Katy, one of the very hip radio stations here in Australia runs a Hottest 100 countdown on 26th January every year. This song came in at number 1 this year! I already knew it because, even though I'm not hip enough to listen to Triple J, my son plays the song non-stop and has mentioned on occasion that it reminds him of our family. Win.

  6. Swearing is an amazing stress-reliever for me. As long as I direct it at objects, or even myself, I think I'm good 🙂

  7. Macklemore has declared that Southeast Portland's House of Vintage is his favorite "thrift" shop. It does have an impressive selection of granddad-style clothing for all your hipster needs. Plus you won't show up to the club in the same $50 t-shirt as six other people ("that's a hella don't!").

  8. Katy- I loved the song from Macklemore when you posted it months ago. Now it is tearing up the local airwaves here along the Florida Panhandle. Congrats on helping spread their thriftyness across the country.
