Non-Consumer Photo Essay —

Congratulations to Barb @ 1 Sentence Diary, whose comment was randomly chosen to win a copy of The Frugal Girl's eBook. Here's of photo of the two of us in 1985 during our senior year of high school. I just love this picture. And yes, I do choose the winners randomly, but sometimes random occurrences come full circle.

This photo pleases me. Pyrex + Fiestaware = perfection.

Although I loved my antique coffee table, it was too big and stuffy/formal for the space. I sold it yesterday for $100 and have replaced it with a $10 squishy garage sale ottoman. I have set aside the $100 to buy the perfect coffee table, and am more than happy to wait as long as it takes. I have made room for something wonderful in my life.

I have been painting my picture frames for a more cohesive look throughout my house. And I do have to say that the clothesline came in mighty handy for drying the paint.

Doesn't the black frame make the image look striking? This frame had been an unfinished grubby looking wood in its former incarnation. I bought this piece at an Albuquerque estate sale when I was in nursing school. I think the cuddling couple are very sweet.

I’m so in love with the chair on the left in your photo I just can’t STAND it! Come to think of it, I like the round table too…and the rug…

I have a request–maybe not directly related to this post..HOW do you sell on ebay? Can you give us a short crash course? I have been intimidated by articles talking about the perfect set up for taking pictures of your items, etc. ??Maybe an ebook? Or a short post?? I have what i think may be some antique marbles to sell!! I LOVE your blog–I start my day with you and few other quality, positive thinking blogs to make me smile!! Thank you for sharing!!

I need to remember about the possibility of painting frames.
Yesterday I passed up a couple cute prints at the Goodwill because the frames were UG-lee.
Framing is a expensive and a pain. Spray paint, however, is cheap.
Thanks for the reminder. Mental note in place.

I’ve been buying and selling on eBay (mostly buying, sigh) since 1998. The most important things are good pictures–clear close ups (not blurry) with good lighting–and know what it is you’re selling and what it’s worth. Do your research on eBay to see what similar items sell for. Describe your items as clearly and honestly as you can, with measurements, but be positive about your items–sometimes sellers are negative and it puts people off. Offer a fair shipping price (buyers get annoyed when they think they’re being ripped off).

I just bought a table that looks very similar to the one you just sold. I purchased it at Value Village for $20. It needs to be refinished though.

I love the chair on the left in your coffee table shot. It looks stately yet comfortable. Would you be willing to tell us its history, how you came to have it, etc?
