One Frugal Thing -- The Oregon Coast

I'm taking a day off from writing, as my husband and I are enjoying a couple days at the Oregon coast. I'll be back tomorrow to share all my frugal shenanigans.

Until then, please know that I am up to my normal tricks, such as delicious scavenged meals from Grocery Outlet.

Beachcombing.

Making sure to enjoy all the amenities we're paying for.

And getting down to the beach during low tide to explore the tidepools.

See you tomorrow!

  1. Whatt!?!!!??? You went to the Oregon Coast and didn't take us? Darn!
Being slap dab in the middle of nowhere, aka Texas, I never get to see the sea coast. I am green with envy!
Hope you are having a wonderful time, and don't forget the sunscreen.

  2. I absolutely love the Oregon coast, and we are going there in July. Already excited about it. Have a wonderful trip!

  3. Thank you for checking in and sharing the wonderful photos. You make a much bigger difference in the world than perhaps you realize. Not being a consumer addict and talking about how you manage your world is huge, but you also role model sanity in an increasingly difficult world. That is a a godzilla gift of role modeling. Have a love time at the beach!!!

  4. In case it isn't too late for a recommendation, I just read a review for a great and frugal pie shop in Cannon Beach. It's upstairs, called The Pie Girl and Pie Guy, and works on the honor system. Pies are about $9 and apparently some of the best around. They also have smaller pies.
Also, there is a business in Wheeler that smokes fish. If you remember Karla's Smoked Fish in Rockaway Beach, these people have modeled their work on hers. Sadly, I think I remember that they don't open until Wednesday or Thursday, but check it out on another trip. Others visiting the coast may want to check it out. Karla's was a family favorite and she is sorely missed!
