A Day Off for The Non-Consumer Advocate and Sand Between my Toes

The most awesome driftwood fort from last Summer

This week is Spring break for my kids, and although we’re mostly sticking close to home, we did get invited to spend the night at the beach with friends tonight. This means that today’s blog post will be short and I won’t have internet access until Wednesday evening.

Because my life is about enjoying life on a dime and making the most of the world around me.

Have a great day, I know we will!

Lucky! I am from Oregon and I now live in Indiana (long story…) and I so miss the Oregon Coast! I try to take my kids every time we visit, it’s my favorite place in the world.

Hope you’re having a great time.

Just wanted to let you know you gave me the push I needed to retire. Had been cutting down my hours gradually over the years but was a little scared to take the final plunge. I have been practicing frugality and simple living my whole life but reading your blog for the past year or so made me realize there is way more to life than work. So far, there is nothing bad about retirement. I now have time to work in my community garden, cook even more from scratch, help elderly neighbors (which has a whole new set of rewards), and can cat or dog sit for my adult children at the drop of a hat.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Thanks!

Scribe,

Wow, I am overwhelmed by your kind words!

Have a great retirement, but it sounds like you already are.

Wasn’t the weather out there a wonderful surprise? We were expecting to be stuck indoors most of the time, and ended up being able to take several long walks on Gearhart, Cannon Beach and Manzanita beaches as well as get out and explore a bit. The best things in life are free! I hope you had a wonderful time.

I had thought we might be going for two days of rain, but both days were gorgeous.

It was perfect.
