Happy New Year to you and yours Katy! May you and the NCA family have a frugal and prosperous 2016!
Best Wishes to Katy & everyone for a fabulous 2016 from Dunedin, NewZealand!

Happy new year, all!
I’ve decided to do The Compact this year!
I’ve also decided to do a no spend January (with the exception that cat food and little DO have to be bought for the month, still.)
Good luck to me in these pursuits and good luck to all of you in your frugal, non consumer pursuits!
Yes, best of luck for your no-spend month and your Compact year!
Happy New Year! I am so happy I have found your blog!
As soon as I decided to join the compact my refrigerator started freezing the greens and my washing machine declined to spin the clothes. However, I hope it can all be adjusted and we will move on. Life presents challenges to us all.
Wonderful day at home today recovering from the holiday dazzle.
I so appreciate Katie’s blog and reading all your comments. Lots of food for thought. Thank you to all.
I hope and will work towards building our emergency fund in 2016. We purchased a home this year and did some needed renovations and our bank account is pretty bare. My goal is 20 K.
Happy New Year to the NCA community.
Happy New Year! I am also doing The Compact this year. My husband surprised us with tickets to Star Wars this afternoon (the 2-D version, naturally), so we had a very nice family outing on a cold day.
Hope that 2016 is full of joyful and frugal things for all of you! Thank you Katy for introducing me to Dave Ramsey ! Not broke or broken but find him inspiring and wish I had known him years ago! Frugality seems to be creeping up on me … Inwon’t say I won’t buy anything new but don’t seem to need much at present! Felt had spent a bit much over Xmas but was still able to save from budget!
Strawberries and baby lettuces in containers growing well in this warm weather in Australia!
I could not convince my husband to commit to the compact for a full year but he has agreed to three months and a no spend month in January. We really need nothing so we should be successful. I am hoping after three months he will commit to another three. We have three big expenses this year to save for. My daughter’s bat mitzvah in April, my husband’s sisters wedding on the other side of the country and a new roof for our house. We currently have very little in savings after buying my husband’s car so I keep reminding my family that we are tightening our belts to not go into debt this year. Happy New year everyone. Love this blog.
