Merry Christmas From The Non-Consumer Advocate!

On this day of family and gift giving, I wish you love and happiness.

And for all you parents who were up until 2 A.M., wrapping gifts, assembling toys and putting the last touches on today’s festivities, I wish you a boatload of caffeine. (Although I will point out that a benefit of used toys is that they’re already assembled. 😉 )

And for those of you who had to work today, I wish you a paycheck rich with overtime pay.

For all of you non-consumers, I wish for your thrifted and handmade gifts to be accepted with the same graciousness and excitement as those purchased at the mall.

And for all of you childless people who went to bed at a reasonable hour and then got to sleep until you were no longer tired, I wish you the good sense to keep that information to yourself.

Merry Christmas!

I was awake until almost four in the morning but that was because we had a terrible thunderstorm move through. My mom is terrified of bad weather so I stayed up with her until it passed.

Our Christmas day is very quiet and low-key. The insanity started Saturday and ended yesterday afternoon for us. The quiet now is so lovely.

Happy Holidays to you and your family, Katie. I think I can speak for many when I say that you’ve become a welcome part of our day. Best wishes for the upcoming year!

Hope you had a great day and had a work schedule that wasn’t too inconvenient (or the grace to deal with it peaceably, if you didn’t! – I bet that convenience is a moot point for your patients!)

Merry Christmas! I’m enjoying your blog so much! I just wanted to tell you that one of my college age daughters favorite Christmas clothing gifts was a pretty blouse that I paid $2. for! It was on clearance at Gabriel Brothers, a great store that beats thrift shop prices at times! It’s not necessarily how much you spend on a gift that makes it special! Keep up the good work!

Happy Holidays to you and your family Katy! The quilt I made for my 8 year old nephew was opened with much excitement and he quickly asked, “How long did it take to make?” I had low expectations for the opening, I figured it’d be something he came to appreciate over time. I was pleasantly surprised! Now we are prepping for a big snow storm here in Indiana! Whooo Hoooo!

Happy Holidays to all! My favorite reaction to a gift I gave this year was giving my sister my used nook for Christmas. I also register her a gift card that I had gotten for my bday for Barnes and noble so she can buy herself some books. She was thrilled to get the gifts.
