The amount of wasted resources, labor, energy… just everything in those targeted savings banks is staggering.
I worked at a store that sold the two rectangular tin ones (plastic surgery and starting a business). It’s really hard and sad to see them end up here. People would buy them often as gifts but with such delight and joy.
It’s a gift store that’s kind of the opposite of non consumer (expect for being a local independent!) but has a special place in heart as I used to stop there every day on the way home from middle school and the owner and coworkers are like family (yes–I feel conflicted, why do you ask?)
I find it comical that the chocolate fund is shaped like a pig. I think that would discourage me from saving toward a chocolate related goal.
Lord knows I need that plastic surgery bank!
